You’ve probably decided to make fitness a priority in 2019, but the difficulty comes when you’ve early morning meetings, events that run after office hours and even red-eye flights to catch… the list goes on. But thanks to the following 24-hour gyms around Singapore, it’s now possible to get fit round the clock. If you still can’t bear to sign up for memberships, some of these allow walk-in guests.

Founded by the former coaches and some of the customers from the now-defunct California Fitness, 24x Fitness offers personal training to help you hit your fitness goals effectively. Choose from six training programmes including circuit training, high-intensity interval training (HIIT), resistance training and core workout sessions. Alternatively, opt for a customised workout plan designed by the trainers. The gym also offers membership benefits such as posture analysis, a heart rate test and a progress record. Prices begin at $25 per entry and from $79 per month for 18 months. Free trials are available.

Banyan Tree Fitness Club

If you’d like to work out with a view, this would be it. Located on Level 55 at Tower 2 of the iconic Marina Bay Sands, you’ll work out to picturesque views of the city skyline. Only those who sign up for personal training packages will be allowed in the gym. In addition to the usual treadmills, stationary bikes and elliptical cross-trainers (where you get to catch up on your favourite television programme), the gym provides resistance training equipment such as a bench press, smith machine, free weights and Kinesis Technogym pulley wall. As a member, you’ll enjoy access to the hot pool, sauna and steam facilities (from 7am to 11pm) in the changing room. Sunrise yoga is also available at an additional cost.

Gymmboxx

With seven outlets islandwide, Gymmboxx offers various membership plans (from $85 per month) and walk-ins ($8), perfect for executives who do not wish to commit to just one gym. All its gyms are spacious and come with well-appointed equipment such as free weights, cardiovascular equipment, premium strength equipment and power racks. Personal training is available at an additional cost. Feeling peckish after your workout? Select outlets such as Jcube and Bishan provide sumptuous packed meals, each loaded with fibre and protein. Other protein supplements and shakes are available, too.

Just a five-minute walk from Bencoolen, Bugis or Bras Basah MRT stations, Loft Gym is a boutique gym for fitness physique training with affordable monthly membership plans. With a comprehensive range of state-of-the-art equipment, the gym focuses on proper technique, fat loss and targeted muscle gain for its clients. If you are new to the gym, fret not. The first floor is where guided training stations happen, while seasoned gym goers can find plate-loaded equipment and premium, custom-made free weights on the second floor. Platinum Fitness

The newest gym in Singapore’s CBD is tucked in basement one of OUE Downtown Gallery on Shenton Way. Take the escalator located on the far right of the building up to The Providore — which you should walk through promptly, there’s no need to get tempted — and you’ll notice signs that’ll get you in the mood to work up a sweat. Platinum Fitness comes with everything you need for a full body workout, including free weights, benches of different varieties and machines with cables and pulleys for various muscle groups. What sets Platinum Fitness apart from the other gyms is that clients have the option to engage their own external trainers and have training sessions in the gym.

The Gym

This friendly, neighbourhood gym in the East Coast prides itself on integrating a wide range of training options into its open-space layout. There are specialised zones for cardio workouts, strength and functional training, free weights and much more. What’s even better? The Gym has plenty of equipment for each type of workout, so you won’t have to wait around for your turn to use it. There’s also the option of working closely with a personal trainer.
