Chopard Dedicates A LUC World Timer To Singapore

Chopard LUC Time Traveler One – Singapore Edition

All Over The World

Whether for business or leisure, Singaporeans are savvy travellers and Chopard is acknowledging this with its LUC Time Traveler One – Singapore Edition.

Every Chopared LUC timepiece comes with an in-house movement produced in Chopard’s Fleurier manufacture.

This particular piece is equipped with the self-winding Calibre 01.05-L, which has a 6.52mm thickness and 60-hour power reserve, meaning it’s not the slimmest movement around but it’s designed for optimal functionality.

It’s a COSC-certified chronometer and finished to the nines with all the classical techniques such as polishing, chamfering and Cotes de Geneve, but perhaps just a few strokes shy of a Qualite Fleurier certification.

Despite the smorgasbord of information around the dial, reading the time – all 24 of them – is a breeze.

Working from the inside out, the innermost ring contains the date and is read with the help of the short skeletonised arrow-tipped hand.

Next, the hours, minutes and seconds are indicated by a pair of Dauphine-type hands painted with white SuperLuminova. The outermost ring displays the names of all 24 cities and is geared to the inner disc which bears the 24 hours.

The crown at four o’clock adjusts the cities ring. Simply position your location at 12 o’clock and let the watch do the rest.

If you’re in Geneva, for instance, and it’s 10.10am, it will be 5.10pm in Singapore, which is marked prominently in red, and 4.10am in New York.

The cities ring takes daylight savings into account and the dial is finished with a satin-brushed galvanic blue – that’s a very nice touch. The watch’s 42mm case is also so beautifully polished that elegance may as well be its middle name.

Highly exclusive, only 15 stainless steel models and eight rose gold models were made – this time traveller is definitely flying first class.
