Drake just debuted a paradoxical eau de parfum called Summer Mink

Drake’s first EDP blends cold- and warm-weather notes to remind you to embrace life’s unexpected moments

Why stop at the song of the summer when you can drop the scent of the summer too? Drake’s luxury perfume brand, Better World Fragrance House, has unveiled its first eau de parfum. Dubbed Summer Mink, the paradoxically named release is all about embracing the unexpected. It does this by blending notes that might initially seem at odds with each other. It opens with bright Italian citrus, clary sage, and petitgrain. The heart of the fragrance, meanwhile, lies in jasmine sambac, rose oil, and spices. The cocktail’s base settles down into rich, woody amber notes alongside vetiver and musk.

And while you’ll have to try Summer Mink for yourself to know if it’s a match for your skin, it will look pretty good on your dresser. The design, a spherical vessel perched on a rectangular base, is a physical homage to the dichotomies in the scent itself. The bottle is done up in the ethereal blue shade that has become the house’s signature colour.

To bring the fragrance to life, Drake once again teamed up with Michael Carby, a senior perfumer at Givaudan, the world’s largest fragrance maker, a 130-year-old company based in Geneva, Switzerland. The rapper worked with Carby on Better World’s other endeavors, including the Carby Musk fragrance oil, which was Drizzy’s personal scent before it hit retail. This time around, though, the duo had other aspirations for their creation.

“Summer Mink was inspired by a yin yang principle of fusing warm, creamy base notes with cold spices and sparkling citruses,” Carby said in a statement. “The ingredient composition was uniquely crafted to reflect a multinational culture with aspirations toward a Better World.”

As far as pricing goes, a 100 ml bottle of Summer Mink will run you US$148. Debuting online this 11 May 2025, the appearance will make it the first men’s fragrance founded by a celebrity to appear on the retailer’s shelves. And it might just be the best you’ve ever had.
