Rimowa just dropped a collection of travel bags made from recycled nylon

The stylish assortment includes three bags crafted from water-repellent Econyl

Rimowa is finally showing off its softer side with its Econyl Travel Bags.

The luxury luggage maker launched its Signature Bag Collection this week with a variety of styles made from Econyl. The recycled nylon material, composed of synthetic waste including industrial plastic and fishing nets recovered from the ocean, is paired with genuine leather accents. The three styles include a backpack, a duffle bag, and a tote, each of which has its own eye-catching details.

The Signature Duffle Bag is a suitable alternative to your go-to weekender and comes in a trio of colours including black, grey, and a greenish khaki. Its spacious interior has a pocket sized for a 16-inch laptop, two interior phone pockets, and a secured zipped pouch. The duffle’s leather bottom helps keep it stable on your travels and the removable strap can be adjusted for your comfort. Like all of the offerings, the bag’s standout feature is the 3-D Rimowa monogram on its outer body.

Rimowa’s Signature Flap Backpack also comes in black, grey, and a greenish khaki hue, plus a fourth shade of navy blue. One of its key details is a unique webbing strap emblazoned with “Rimowa Cologne” coordinates that allows you to slip it over the telescoping handle of a rolling suitcase. It also features an opening system with a contrasting sliding cord and two metallic bespoke buckles, plus external hidden zipped pockets on its side and flap that allow you to access your essentials easily.

The Signature Sliding Tote (seen at the top of this page) is the final new offering from the German manufacturer, available in just two colours: black and navy. It includes two interior pockets, a leather bottom, and a sliding cord opening for quick and practical access. Some might find it ideal for storing gym gear, running errands, or even overnight stays. One added bonus: the Econyl means all the bags’ exteriors are water repellant in addition to being stylish and eco-friendly.

You can peruse the Rimowa Signature Bag Collection now on the brand’s website. Prices range from US$1,150 for the Sliding Tote to US$1,490 for the Duffle Bag. Safe travels.
