Crafted over 18 months, this singular BMW i7 Singapore Icons salutes Singapore’s 60th birthday, BMW Asia’s 40th, Eurokars Singapore’s 40th, and the art of meaningful design
Singapore’s skyline may be ever-changing, but one new arrival made a particularly bold impression this week: a one-of-one BMW i7, unveiled by BMW Asia to mark Singapore’s 60th diamond jubilee, BMW Asia’s 40th year in the region, and Eurokars Singapore’s 40th anniversary.

Aptly named the BMW i7 Singapore Icons, this bespoke, all-electric flagship saloon is both a rolling tribute to the nation’s identity, as well as a technical and artistic showcase from the German marque.

“Planning for this masterpiece began 18 months ago, and was a labour of love,” said Lars Nielsen, the Managing Director of BMW Group Asia. “It is a celebration of icons and was created to be one itself.” And it shows. From the deep Madeira Red finish (a rich Rolls-Royce paint borrowed via BMW Individual) to the laser-etched Singapore Icons signet on the Hofmeister kink, every detail has been considered, refined, and executed with purpose.

Inside, the storytelling continues. A panel on the dashboard has been transformed into a laser-cut metallic inlay, featuring seven of Singapore’s most recognisable landmarks, from the Supertree Grove and Changi Control Tower to the ArtScience Museum and Marina Bay Sands. It’s an understated centrepiece set into oak grey wood, then sealed with a mirror-like clear lacquer—an exquisite blend of German precision and local homage.

Other exclusive touches include 21-inch wheels, Merino leather upholstery in Smoke White, and custom-stitched ‘Singapore Icons’ embroidery on all headrests. Even the interior palette subtly nods to the red and white of the Singapore flag.
But this isn’t just a showpiece; it already belongs to someone. This one-off i7 was acquired by the fifth-generation owner of heritage food company Kwong Cheong Thye, Choo Wai Luen, ahead of the business’ 133rd anniversary this year. “Every time I look at this masterpiece, I’m reminded of how far we’ve come as a nation—and how far my family has come in building our business,” Choo remarked. “It is a privilege to call myself the owner of a one-of-one BMW.”

One car, one owner, and one story, rooted in legacy and crafted for the future. The BMW i7 Singapore Icons might be one of one, but its message resonates far wider.
