Hennessy Paradis X Loewe blends heritage and legacy

By Audrey Simon 3 June, 2025

In a first-of-its-kind collaboration, Hennessy and Loewe come together to unveil a limited-edition Hennessy Paradis, drawing unexpected inspiration from a chestnut burr

Something wonderful happens when the worlds of fine cognac and high fashion collide. In a surprising collaboration, Hennessy teams up with Loewe to create a limited-edition bottle of Hennessy Paradis—encased in a handcrafted leather wrap inspired by the chestnut burr, the spiky husk that protects chestnuts on the tree.

Hennessy Paradis takes its name from the Maison’s Paradis cellar, where its most prized eaux-de-vie are left to mature for generations. Eaux-de-vie or “waters of life,” in the context of cognac, refers to clear, colourless brandies distilled from fermented fruit juice. For both Hennessy and Loewe, the process begins with thoughtful selection and ends in a beautiful craftsmanship. This exceptional blend was composed by sixth-generation Master Blender Maurice Fillioux, who likened it to a symphonic orchestra.

At first glance, the partnership might seem unexpected, but it makes perfect sense. Both brands are deeply rooted in a respect for raw materials—whether it’s Loewe’s supple leather or Hennessy’s carefully aged eaux-de-vie. Heritage is a shared language between them. In both fashion and spirits, storytelling is everything. Each creation reflects not just skill and artistry, but a lineage of tradition and values passed down through generations. These aren’t merely luxury goods—they’re stories you can hold, wear, or taste.

Artisanal precision and exclusivity also define both brands. Whether it’s a custom-made handbag or a rare cognac blend, these objects are designed to resonate with those who appreciate exceptional detail and timeless design.

The leather “nest” itself—Loewe’s reinterpretation of the chestnut burr—is more than a clever container. Crafted from the fashion house’s signature leather, it is a nod to the chestnut wood historically used to protect Hennessy’s ageing barrels, while also echoing the warm tones of Loewe’s iconic bags. It’s part tribute, part reinvention—an object that marries craftsmanship with symbolism.

Loewe’s Spanish artisans, celebrated for their precision and material innovation, devote over 10 hours to producing each casing by hand. With its belt, neck clip, and a custom ritual kit—including glasses and a pipette—it transcends packaging to become a collectible objet d’art.

The editions come in three hues—anise, amber, and chestnut—each representing a stage in the chestnut’s life cycle. The collection includes two sizes: a striking 3L decanter (price on request), and a 70cl bottle priced at €2,600.

Since 1765, Hennessy has refined the art of cognac-making, building a legacy grounded in expertise, precision, and tradition. Its savoir-faire lies in the expert selection, ageing, and blending of eaux-de-vie, all made from grapes grown in a single region of France.

Each of the nearly 100 eaux-de-vie is chosen for its unique character, then blended to achieve perfect harmony. The result is a cognac that has depth, with warm copper hues and a voluptuous taste that lingers on the palate.

By uniting Loewe’s bold design language with Hennessy’s centuries-old craftsmanship, this collaboration proves that when heritage meets innovation, the result can be something entirely new, highly-sought after, expressive, and polished.
