Founded in 2021 by water sports lover Alex Lind and honed by years of intensive design and engineering work, it is the product of a lifelong dream to bring surfing anywhere. While Lind Canvas isn’t here to compete with traditional surfing, it does provide a more authentic surfing experience compared to say, e-foiling, which allows you to glide above the water.
Shaped from EPS foam and coated in epoxy resin, the board weighs just seven kilograms, with the battery and jet (weighing 27 kg in total) easily tucked into a custom-designed backpack. Transportation and set-up are a piece of cake, compared to the power that lies beneath. It comes in two sizes—a shortboard measuring 6’3″ x 20 ⅘” x 5 7/10″ and a mid-length at 6’9″ x 23 ½” x 5 7/10″—each offering a range of sharp, wide, open and deep turns, or the calm, quiet cruise one craves for at sunset. Powerful but graceful, the board responds to the surfer’s movements naturally, enabling them to focus not just on the turn, but their surroundings and that very moment.
