Zenith wades into the gifting season with a new edition Defy Extreme Diver

If your mind has already checked out to a preferred year-end dive vacation, here’s another pleasant consideration to occupy your thoughts. Zenith is closing out 2024 by introducing a new edition of its hyper-masculine, underwater-ready Defy Extreme Diver watch.

Whether it is the Maldives or Galápagos Islands that you have penciled in, the Defy Extreme Diver makes a trusty companion with its highly rated performance specs. Though the 42.5mm titanium case appears hefty, it is lightweight and resistant to saltwater corrosion. Water resistant to 600m, the watch also meets ISO-rated standards for anti-magnetism and shock-resistance.

Additionally, features such as a helium escape valve made for saturation diving, a tactile and corrosion-resistant ceramic unidirectional rotating bezel to mark remaining dive times, and plus-sized hands and markers coated in Super-LumiNova for optimum legibility ensure top-notch dive readiness. As expected of a Zenith creation, the watch is powered by the brand’s renowned El Primero automatic movement, a high-frequency engine with 60-hour power reserve, which is visible through a sapphire display back.

Loaded with machismo from the inside-out, the new Defy Extreme Diver is performs as beautifully as an weekend accompaniment. The watch’s sizeable silhouette oozes sporty machismo, lightly accented with black and orange (a nod to the colour that appears on Zenith’s vintage dive watches) on the bezel and inner dial flange.

To complete the offering, Zenith pairs the watch with a three-link titanium bracelet and supplies two additional straps: a black rubber strap with a Cordura-effect texture and vents on the side to allow for quick drying, and an extra-long strap made of recycled fishing nets, which can be worn over a wetsuit.
