The much-awaited news of borders opening up has finally been bestowed upon us. And this time it’s a destination we’re sure many of us have on our summer vacation list: Phuket. Since 1 July, Phuket has reopened its borders to vaccinated travellers without the need for quarantine. You can now hit the white sandy beaches the minute you leave the airport.

Amanpuri

Como Point Yamu

Located at the tip of Cape Yamu overlooking the Andaman Sea and the Phang Nga Bay, Como Point Yamu offers luxurious beachfront accommodation that evokes contemporary Thai luxury. They also have one of the largest accommodations on this list with 79 rooms and suites, and 27 private villas. However, do take note that Como Point is currently only welcoming guests for villa experiences only. Kata Rocks

As one of the best luxury villas along Kata Beach, it gives a holistic experience of modern beachfront living, oceanfront dining experiences and wellness activities. The pool villa-only resort, it underwent a huge refurbishment that saw the addition of new villa categories, a spa, an innovative farm-to-table restaurant and the introduction of personalised services. Don’t just lounge by the tranquil pools and sip on cocktails the entire time, though. Located on Kamala Beach on the up-market west coast of Phuket Island, Twinpalms MontAzure is a boutique hotel that features 46 suites and penthouses, all with amazing views of either the ocean, the pool or the nearby mountains. While it may not be as convenient as some of the other resorts listed here, there are complimentary Take Me To shuttle buses that drop you off at Kamala, Bang Tao and Surin beaches.
