Bvlgari’s legendary Serpenti undergoes a transformation, with modern aesthetics and timeless elegance coming together in a new design that symbolises rebirth and sophistication
The launch of Bvlgari’s Serpenti Aeterna collection in 2025 coincides with the Year of the Snake in the Chinese zodiac. In Chinese astrology, this year is regarded as a time of transformation and renewal—an auspicious occasion for new beginnings. Echoing this spirit of rebirth, the Serpenti Aeterna is more than a celebration of heritage, it is a powerful symbol of reinvention. Bvlgari has breathed new life into its iconic serpent motif, presenting a dazzling suite of high jewellery that exemplifies boundless creativity. Diamonds illuminate the gold, while the design reflects Bvlgari’s core values of Italian flair and pioneering spirit.
The alignment between the collection and the zodiac sign underscores enduring themes of renewal, continuous evolution, and the embrace of one’s true nature. With this launch, Bvlgari not only honours its illustrious history but also captures the spirit of the serpent in both Italian culture and the Chinese zodiac. Since its debut in 1948, the Serpenti collection has continually evolved, embracing diverse artistic interpretations and pushing the boundaries of design.
The latest incarnation offers a minimalist expression of the snake, devoid of eyes, scales, or superfluous detail—capturing the essence of the serpent in its purest form. Serpenti Aeterna elegantly coils around the wrist, its fluid lines highlighting the sensual interplay of gold against skin and forming a tapered, geometric ring of light. Conceived as an exquisitely refined bangle, it adapts seamlessly to personal style while pairing effortlessly with other Bvlgari creations.
Perfecting this union of aesthetic purity and comfort required two years of meticulous craftsmanship. The iconic hexagonal scales, a hallmark of earlier Serpenti creations, are discreetly etched into the inner contour—an invisible yet meaningful detail that deepens the Serpenti Aeterna’s connection to its storied lineage.
The new line makes its debut in two extraordinary versions: rose gold adorned with diamonds, and a high- jewellery edition that is fully pave set in white gold. In the rose gold model, the curved case is sprinkled with round brilliant-cut diamonds and crowned by a rose gold crown that is also set with a brilliant-cut diamond. Paired with a rose gold bracelet embellished with diamonds, it is offered in small and large sizes. The dial, pave-set with brilliant-cut diamonds and finished with rose gold-plated hands, elegantly melds luxury with contemporary sophistication. In the white gold edition, the case, head, and bezel are entirely set with round brilliant-cut diamonds, while the crown is graced with an emerald brilliant cut. It is paired with a diamond-set white gold bracelet, available in a small size with a 155mm circumference. The dial, fully pave-set with brilliant-cut diamonds, is complemented by vivid green hands.
Thanks to an ingenious clasp mechanism, the design caresses the wrist with effortless grace, while the subtle engraving of hexagonal scales within the inner surface quietly reinforces the Serpenti Aeterna’s enduring link to the original’s fabled past.
