As part of a collaboration with Kindred, Gustaf Westman is reimagining the pop-up by taking over listed homes across Europe
Gustaf Westman—the Willy Wonka of interior design, if you will—is an architect-turned-designer in Stockholm, creating a household name out of fantastical, pastel-hued designs.
His apartment is everything you’d expect—Scandi-cool to the extremes, injected with postmodern flair. Filled with colour and furniture like Westman’s sculptural Spiral Stands, his Curvy Mirror and a Ligne Roset Togo sofa that’s stood the test of time, it’s an adult cartoon brought to life, with playful splashes of whimsy and plenty of fun.

Now you can join in on the fun. As part of a collaboration with Kindred, a home-swapping platform with 190,000 members, he is reimagining the pop-up by taking over listed homes across Europe. Unlike the traditional showroom, staying in a home with Westman’s name written all over ought to offer better marketing.
For one night only, one could immerse themself in Gustaf Westman’s collections in Amsterdam (30 to 31 August) or Madrid (6 to 7 September). If you’re not yet on Kindred, simply sign up with an eligible home and wait to be verified. New members get to book up to five nights before they host, but the main Kindred experience involves home swapping and hosting for credits, just at the cost of a cleaning and service fee.
