Cortina Watch makes S$1.62 million donation to Singapore charities on its 50th anniversary year

Cortina Watch Anniversary charity donation

It’s not just a bevy of beautiful Cortina Watch limited edition watches for the retailer’s Golden Jubilee, but a whole lot of good for society as well.

On the occasion of its 50th anniversary gala, Cortina Watch generously donated a grand total of S$1.62 million to various charity organisations in Singapore, rounding off the luxury timepiece retailer’s Golden Jubilee celebrations to a memorable end.

Of the total amount, S$1 million went through the Community Chest to AWWA Ltd, an organisation that provides early intervention for pre-schoolers, education and integration support for children and adults with additional needs, social assistance for vulnerable families, and care services for seniors.

Chief executive officer of Cortina Holdings, Raymond Lim, presented the cheque to chairman of the Community Chest, Chew Sutat, and chief executive officer of AWWA Ltd, JR Karthikeyan, in the presence of Speaker of the Singapore Parliament, Tan Chuan-Jin.

Cortina Watch also contributed S$200,000 to the Singapore Heart Foundation, along with S$100,000 to Ren Ci Hospital. The remaining S$320,000 were dedicated to other organisations and associations, including the Kwong Wai Shiu Hospital and the Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS), among several others.

Throughout its 50-year history, Cortina Watch has always committed itself to giving back to society and being responsive to the needs of different local groups through philanthropic efforts in supporting healthcare, education, arts, and culture.

In 2015, for instance, the retailer acquired one of three Patek Philippe dome clocks at a charity auction for S$750,000, with the funds going towards the Community Chest in its support for social services.

Since March 2022, Cortina Watch has celebrated its 50th anniversary with eight distinguished watch partners, creating special limited edition pieces exclusively for its clients. They include Chopard, Patek Philippe, Cartier, Franck Muller, Corum, Blancpain, H. Moser & Cie, and TAG Heuer.
