Caviar Sunday

Thanks to Caviar Colony and Sunday Folks, Singapore gets to be treated to Asia’s first caviar ice cream. To celebrate National Day, the two local brands will serve the handcrafted ice cream folded through with luxurious caviar in limited quantities exclusively at the Sunday Folks Ion outlet from 1 to 13 August 2023. Guests can enjoy it in a Classic Cone (S$68), with two scoops nestled on toasted breadcrumbs within a waffled cone, or a Dessert Bowl (S$168), where a scoop sits under a layer of savoury, cold piped mashed potato strands. The latter also comes with a 10g tin of Caviar Colony Russian Hybrid caviar and a mother of pearl spoon. Book ahead here.

Tasmania, for all to see

Tasmanian leading architectural practice Room 11 has recently added an impressive property to Koonya. Overlooking Norfolk Bay, The Glass House’s striking attribute is its obvious transparency, framed by gravel beds as inspired by American sculptor Donald Judd. The entrance is discreetly placed at the high end, and descending a set of stairs leads to a single-level home with a breathtaking view through a picture window at the other end. The kitchen’s deliberate minimalism keeps the focus on the bay view, while fine details like small timber shutters in the living room walls for cross ventilation, add to the architectural boldness.
