From the highlands of Guatemala to the skyline of Singapore, Ron Zacapa brings its award-winning rums and rich artisanal heritage to town
Crafted in the heart of Guatemala, and aged 2,300 metres above sea level (in a place where master blender Lorena Vasquez’s children calls ‘heaven’), Ron Zacapa is no ordinary spirit; it is a patient work of art, a celebration of heritage, and an invitation to indulge in the extraordinary. Now, the award-winning luxury rum brand brings its multi-sensory showcase, Casa Del Zacapa: The Travelling House, to Southeast Asia–making a stylish stop in Singapore with its “Aged Above the Clouds” launch at SUSHISAMBA.

Inspired by the Guatemalan highlands where Zacapa is aged in its famed “House Above the Clouds”, the experience immerses guests in the brand’s story through sight, sound, taste, and touch. It’s a journey that begins with virgin sugar cane honey–pressed only once for a naturally sweeter, smoother spirit–and continues through the centuries-old Solera System, where rums of varying ages rest in casks once used for American whiskey, Oloroso sherry, Pedro Ximenez, and Cognac. Under the expert hand of master blender Lorena Vasquez, each drop gains remarkable depth and elegance before being dressed in the handwoven Petate band, a symbol of Guatemala’s artisanal heritage.

Two flagship expressions take centre stage. Zacapa No. 23 is a sophisticated blend of rums aged between six and 23 years, offering aromas of caramel, vanilla, and cacao, followed by deep fruit and nutmeg on the palate, finishing with honeyed butterscotch. Versatile and food-friendly, it pairs beautifully with aged Parmesan and artisanal honey.

Zacapa XO, matured up to 25 years and finished in French oak Cognac casks, reveals a luxurious profile of toasted oak, burnt caramel, roasted nuts, and orange peel, unfolding into dried mango, raspberry, and ginger. It’s a decadent sip best enjoyed neat, on the rocks, or alongside dark chocolate and desserts.
Both expressions are no strangers to acclaim, having garnered golds and double golds at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition, World Rum Awards, and Luxury Spirits Masters. In Singapore, they are now available at venues including SUSHISAMBA and Sugarhall, retailing at approximately S$250 for No. 23 and S$400 for XO.
