Ford’s latest muscle car has real box office potential.

The Detroit giant has teamed up with actress Sydney Sweeney to design a special Mustang GT. Two examples of the custom fastback will be built, one of which is headed for the Anyone But You star’s garage, while the other is destined for one lucky contest winner.

The actress and Ford have a history together. Sweeney, who was born and raised in Tacoma, Washington, comes from a family of mechanics and learned to drive using her grandfather’s F-100 truck. When production of Euphoria was put on hold by the Covid-19 pandemic, she restored a 1969 Bronco and documented it on her TikTok account, @Syd’s_garage. This isn’t the first time she’s teamed up with the automaker, either. Last year, saw the launch of the first of two Ford x Sydney Sweeney workwear collections, the first of which sold out in hours.

The latest collaboration is the biggest yet, though. Ford has tapped Sweeney to design a custom Mustang GT to celebrate the nameplate’s 60th anniversary. The car’s unique look is modelled after that of Sweeney’s own personal 1965 ‘Stang, Britney, and is finished in Brittany Blue topped with a crushed glass clear coat, has special badging, and rides on a set of 20-inch chrome rims. The model-specific details carry over to the tan leather interior, where you’ll find the Ford x Sydney Sweeny ‘heart bolt’ the emblem embossed into the seats and across the dashboard and door sills. The headliner also features colour-changing LEDs as a nod to the actress’s love of nighttime drives.

Flip up the hood and you’ll see Sweeney’s signature emblazoned on the muscle car’s fourth-generation five-litre Coyote V-8. The brawny mill pumps out 480 horsepower and 564 Nm of twist which is sent to the rear wheels via a six-speed manual transmission with rev matching. The fastback can launch from zero to 60 mph (96 km/hr) in just 4.6 seconds and has a top speed of 249 km/hr.

Interested in owning the matching Mustang GT? Today’s your final chance to enter Ford’s contest (only if you are an American resident) to win the car. Follow Ford on Instagram or TikTok and share how you’ve challenged expectations to pursue your passion with the hashtag #FordMustangContest. The winner will be chosen by the actress herself.
