A night of Rare Whiskies and Virtual Whisky Experiences at Bordier & Cie

life After hours

When your office is as sophisticated and well-appointed as that of Bordier & Cie – kitted out as it is with a mix of fine contemporary artworks and antiques – there can hardly be a better venue to host an intimate whisky appreciation session.

So it was on a late April evening that the private bank, event co-sponsor, offshore law firm Harneys, investment consultants Wealth and Robb Report Singapore, came together to savour the delights of investment-grade single malts and the finest Scotches. In attendance were private guests from all four companies.

Robb Report Singapore’s Publisher Michael Von Schlippe delivered the opening address. James Mackay, Diageo’s Head of Prestige Sales, Singapore, then presented the ultra-exclusive Johnnie Walker Trunk to the 45-strong crowd. The portable trunk contained a selection of rare whiskies, drams of which were lapped up by enthusiasts.

Not to be outdone, renowned Scottish distillery The Singleton of Glen Ord showcased its 12-year-old single malt, accompanied by virtual reality headsets that lent another dimension to the experience. Bordier’s CEO and managing partner Evrard Bordier – fifth generation of the family – brought the proceedings to a close with a parting speech, thanking everyone for joining him and his team for an evening of fun.
