Round-the-clock dining, direct access to the ocean from your private villa or clear waters teeming with schools of fish in Maldives just won’t cut it anymore, thanks to the game changer that is Four Seasons Private Island Maldives at Voavah.

Located on Voavah island on the Baa Atoll (otherwise known as Southern Maalhosmadulu Atoll), the private island can only be accessed by a single ‘owner’ or private group each time, and accommodates up to 22 guests. Spread across five acres of land, your personal beach playground comes with seven bedrooms, a beach house, dive centre, multiple dining options, an extensive list of resort and facilities, and the Oceans of Consciousness Spa.

Each trip starts the note on a high, quite literally, given that you’ll be flown on the Four Seasons private jet. Baggage, custom details, and immigration will be taken care of by the staff as you’re whisked off to the island via a 40-min right on a private seaplane. Upon arrival, the island will be yours to call home, with staff at your service throughout.

Chances are, the most difficult decision upon landing would be deciding where you’d like to sleep for the night. There’s the three-bedroom beach villa (beach and ocean views), two-bedroom water villa (lagoon and ocean views), and two mezzanine suites (beach and ocean views), each having their own allure.

Accommodation options are aplenty on Four Seasons Private Island Maldives at Voavah. Its three-bedroom beach villa sprawls across 1,077sqm of land and offers a massive sunbathing pool and alfresco living room. The two-bedroom water villa is perfect for catching sunsets, and is stilted above the lagoon, providing direct snorkeling access. For an unobstructed view of the Biosphere Reserve and beyond, pick one of the two Mezzanine suites.

The concept of time is foreign and forgotten on Four Seasons Private Island Maldives at Voavah. Dine on demand, as often as you like, whenever and wherever you please. There’s no need for private in-villa dining either, for the entire island is your oyster. Picnic lunches, poolside dining, beachfront barbecues are just some of the many options available.

For communal gatherings, the double-storey Beach House Hub provides the perfect get-together experience with a dining room, kitchen, library, loft lounge and an open-air living room. Should you feel the need to exercise, the hub also includes a gym and pool deck.

That said, no trip to Maldives isn’t complete without exploring the underwater world. Embark on dolphin and turtle safaris, surf the waves at the Lhaviyani Atoll, and take a course or two at the five-star PADI dive centre. Sharks, manta rays, coral-filled overhangs and underwater pinnacles are just some of the more common sightings at the underwater playground. Night snorkeling is also highly encouraged, as the divemaster takes you on a tour and points out creatures of the night including crabs, lobsters and octopi.

Should you choose to venture further from the island, hop on board Voavah Summer, Four Seasons’ 19-m Horizon E62 yacht. The two-cabin yacht is ideal for sunset cruises, island hopping, fishing, dolphin spotting, and for those who wish to spend a night under the stars.

The island also offers the usual yoga, meditation and Pranayama classes, along with bespoke over-water spa therapies and rituals, Ayurvedic treatments, acupuncture and pain-free face-lift facials to complement your sun-kissed skin.

The island is open for bookings, and will officially open on 1 December, 2016.
