The Song of India

The folks behind The Song of India aren’t just whipping up a savoury menu, but also adding an element of fun into the restaurant’s V-Day offerings from the 13th to 15th of February. Under the guidance of Chef Manjunath, guests can partake in a hands-on workshop to craft their own dessert, which will then be served to their partners during dinner. However, this workshop can accommodate just 10 participants, so it’s fastest fingers first. Dishes served during the five-course dinner menu include the lentil khandvi roll and white asparagus chicken shorba soup.

Artemis

It’s hard to ruin a date when you’re dining in a setting that grants you a vista as spectacular as the Marina Bay skyline. But that’s exactly what Artemis will offer all our lovebirds. Its one-night-only four-course menu ($148++ per person) allows you to take your pick from its extensive lineup. If you’re celebrating a day later (be it to make a statement, or otherwise) you’ll get to select from a special, one-day only menu which includes Beetroot Tortellini, Black Cod and Strawberry Shortcake.

Halia

If you define ‘romantic’ as dining amid lush greenery away from the humdrum of the city, then you should consider making reservations at Halia. It’s a garden-inspired restaurant that sits within the one-hectare Ginger Garden of the Singapore Botanic Gardens. The restaurant’s V-Day menu is not for those with a small appetite though. You’ll be treated to an 11-course Couple Sharing menu (from $270++ per couple), with savouring freshly shucked oysters, Bluefin tuna tartare, and Slow Cooked Wagyu Striploin amongst others.

If you’re not one for sharing menus, a buffet option at The Villa ($240++ per couple) is also available. It offers live roast and dessert stations, 11 hot and cold selections and a free-flow of red, white and sparkling. But don’t call it a day yet until you’ve hopped into the photo booth, where selfies with your other half can be instantaneously printed as a memento for you to take home.

Saint Pierre

Indulging in a fancy seven-course dinner (S$888++ per counple) at a one Michelin-star establishment can do no wrong too, we reckon. Saint Pierre chef-owner Emmanuel Stroobant has curated a V-Day menu for the lovebirds with a more extravagant palate. In the company of a bottle of Dom Perignon and stunning panaromic view of the Marina Bay skyline, the evening kicks off with an enticing array of nine bite-size snacks, ranging from sweet corn and tomato to miso and artichoke. Oscietra caviar seems like a promising starter to us, and so does the Hokkaido scallop with black truffle, butter curst and Champagne emulsion. Opt for the lobster or lamb saddle for your main, but remember to leave some room for desserts, which take the form of a resplendent strawberry dessert and Tanariva-Manjari chocolate. A five-course dinner is also available at $488++ per couple.

The Summerhouse

If intimacy is your utmost priority when it comes to finding the perfect venue, we advise that you look no further than The Summerhouse. It’s like walking into a secret garden that’s circled by lush flora and fauna. Here’s the main highlight: you won’t be dining with your partner in the presence of other couples, but instead will be ushered to a personal air-conditioned geodesic dome adorned with fairy lights. In this dome, you may indulge on a 10-course set menu ($600++ per couple) that features edible flowers and herbs handpicked from the surrounding garden. Pace yourself throughout the evening, as the Japanese Scallop with Seaweed and Sake Jelly and Straits Kelong Red Snapper Pie are two dishes you really shouldn’t miss.
