Luxury hotels in Kuala Lumpur: Hyatt House opens its first Southeast Asian branch in Malaysia

Hyatt House Kuala Lumpur

A collaborative effort between Hyatt and UEM Sunrise Berhad, Hyatt House Kuala Lumpur marks the brand’s entry into the extended stay hotel segment in Malaysia and the Southeast Asian region

Kuala Lumpur is known for its vibrant nightlife, luxury accommodations and shopping choices. But those aren’t the only reasons Malaysia’s capital city is such a draw for visitors. December marks the opening of the long-awaited Hyatt House Kuala Lumpur, tucked away in the cosmopolitan district of Mont Kiara.

Upscale is the name of the game at Hyatt House, which comprises 255-residentially inspired rooms, studio king guest rooms along with one- and two-bedroom suites, all of which are appointed with fully-equipped kitchens, cosy living rooms and capacious bedrooms. Need a little more space? Hyatt House also offers 43 luxe Den guest rooms that have a separate seating area. With 298 keys under its belt, this makes Hyatt House Kuala Lumpur the brand’s largest property in the world.

Start your day with a hot, hearty breakfast with a build-your-own omelette station and an assorted Breads + Bowls bar, which offers steel-cut oatmeal and fresh fruit. Vegetarian and gluten-free selections are also available.

Don’t worry if you’ve forgotten to pack your trusty razor or phone charger, because Hyatt House has a Borrows Menu where you can loan these oft-forgotten items. Kuala Lumpur is also known for its crazy traffic, so if you’d rather not drive around town, hop on the complimentary, scheduled hotel shuttle to get around Mont Kiara or to nearby shopping malls such as 1 Mont Kiara or Solaris Mall Mont Kiara.

If there’s one thing you must do in Kuala Lumpur, it’s to make room for all the delicious street food and high-end dining options around the city such as Tapak Urban Dining, Marble 8, Nobu Kuala Lumpur and the infamous Jalan Alor. But on days when all you want is veg out in your room, swing by H Bar at Hyatt House and browse through its Sip + Snack menu for hot soups, sandwiches, premium beers and wines. Alternatively, pop into H Market for snacks, fresh salads, sundries and more.

In addition to a 24-hour workout room, Hyatt House also has The Commons lounge for socialising and relaxing, the Outdoor Commons, which has a BBQ pit, as well as gathering rooms for meetings or events, which include a tasty food and drinks menu, audiovisual equipment and a House Host to make sure events are a real crowd-pleaser.

Bonus: If you’re planning to stay for at least a month, you’ll want to sign up for its Very Important Resident (VIR) programme, which includes complimentary grocery shopping and other perks.
