An exclusive group of Robb Report Singapore readers was treated to an evening soirée where they savoured The Macallan’s signature serves and journeyed through the brand’s 200 years of expertise

From now till the end of April, whisky aficionados have the opportunity to sample some of The Macallan’s finest whiskies through an astonishing variety of cocktails as part of the distillery’s 200th-anniversary celebrations. Aptly named ‘A Journey Through Time’, the campaign sees The Macallan partner with some of Singapore’s premier bars to offer unique takes on three iconic cocktails—the Rob Roy, the Old-Fashioned, and the Boulevardier—crafted with its Double Cask range of 12, 15, and 18-year-old whiskies.

During such an evening, The Macallan and Robb Report Singapore invited a select group of readers to engage in the experience. The evening commenced at The Macallan House where attendees were led on a guided tour of the premises. An artful tableau of whisky bottles, from various years and eras, adorned the feature wall (known as the Fine and Rare Wall)—echoing The Macallan’s long and esteemed history.

The evening experience—named ‘A Journey through Time’—commenced at The Macallan House.

Subsequently, guests proceeded to the house bar where, following a brief exposition on the forthcoming flavours, they were presented with a trio of exquisitely concocted cocktails. Each cocktail symbolised a different era—the Double Cask 12 years old, adorned with red vermouth and orange bitters, evoked the past; the Double Cask 15 years old, complemented with sauterne wine, green apple, and cucumber oil, embodied the present; and the Double Cask 18 years old, infused with grappa concentrate, sandalwood bitters, and plum foam, offered a glimpse into the future.

After visiting The Macallan House, guests were whisked to HighHouse and Singapore Edition’s Punch Room for the second and final legs of the journey, respectively. Both venues offered opulent yet intimate settings for guests to further discover the unique flavour profiles of the whiskies and stellar creativity of their mixologists.

The evening continued with visits to HighHouse and Singapore Edition’s Punch Room.

Savouring delectable canapes and pairing them with more sublime and contemporary interpretations of the classic cocktails, the guests concurred that there is much to admire about The Macallan’s strong support of local mixologists, providing them free reign to put their own spin on the cocktails—and more significant, the distillery’s incredible 200-year legacy, which continues to evolve and innovate to this day.
