Breathing Room by Jason Ting

Seek comfort in the meditative enclosure of Breathing Room, a multimedia installation built as a sanctuary of stillness and reflection, not for viewers to zone out, but to reconnect with themselves in order to re-engage with the world with greater care. Coast to Toast: Seoul Edition

When: 25 July 2025

Where: HighHouse

Founded by graphic designer and DJ Jinmoo Choi, Kompakt Record Bar has become a cult favourite that bridges Seoul’s underground music scene with fashion art and style. For one night only, this vinyl cocktail bar from Apgujeong’s Gangnam district will be at HighHouse from 11pm to 3am, offering beats by Jinmoo, Bigter and Roof, and drinks powered by Hendrick’s. Happy Together: Visions of Gladness

When: Now until 27 July 2025

Where: Whitestone Gallery

Explore how happiness is expressed, shared and celebrated across cultures. Featuring immersive artworks by five contemporary artists (Goldie Poblador, Krit Ngamsom, Kumari Nahappan, Mulyana and Yuree Kensaku), this exhibition captures the rich emotional landscape of Southeast Asia, revealing happiness not as something that’s short-lived but one that’s shaped by strength found in unity and adversity.

Nouri x Wana Yook

When: 26 to 27 July 2025

Where: Nouri

Chalee Kader (Wana Yook, Bangkok), a chef known for his Thai-Indian heritage and bold, ingredient-led approach to Thai cuisine, will be teaming up with Ivan Brehm (Nouri, Singapore) on a one-off collaborative menu. Eat your way through Brehm’s philosophy of cultural curiosity and shared flavours, and uncover the stories of trade and migration that stand behind the dishes. Book here.

Woo KukWon: Universe’s Universe

When: 26 July to 30 August 2025

Where: Tang Contemporary Art

Marking an important moment in Woo KukWon’s evolving practice, the Korean artist’s first solo exhibition in Singapore is designed in reference to the cosmic scale of the unknown as well as Woo’s daughter, Universe (우주). There will be 22 new paintings created, each illustrating Universe’s unfiltered perception of the world and offering entry points for emotional recognition without the need for literal understanding. A House of Guigal pairing dinner

Hannes Schmid: A Life in Pictures

Celebrating the extraordinary oeuvre of an artist with an incredible view of life and humanity, this exhibition by Hannes Schmid brings to life the spirit of a place, culture and moment. See his three celebrated bodies of work—For Gods Only, a series chronicling Chinese street opera and calligraphy; Blackstage, a series of portraits of music legends; and Fashion & Wildlife, where he elevates fashion photography with raising awareness for endangered species.

Heman Chong’s first major survey exhibition

When: Now until 17 August 2025

Where: SAM at Tanjong Pagar Distripark

Heman Chong: This is a dynamic list and may never be able to satisfy particular standards for completeness is the first major survey exhibition by the prolific multifaceted artist. Bringing together 50 artworks and new commissions from the early 2000s to the present, the show will examine Chong’s post-conceptual strategies and gestures, expressed through works that work through image, text, performances and situations. Singapore at 60

When: Now until 17 August 2025

Where: Artspace @ Helutrans

In celebration of Singapore’s big 60, this exhibition reflects on the continuous work of Singapore as a nation, showcasing over 90 works (artist’s proofs) from Chong Huai Seng’s extensive private art collection. Works range from the 1940s to 2025 by over 50 artists, with themes such as worlding, diaspora and trans-locality integral to the Singapore identity. Framed: A Murder Mystery

Combining the love of video games and real-life immersive experiences, the National Gallery Singapore has collaborated with Hidden on Framed: A Murder Mystery, a fun, new way of discovering art. Available on the phone for solo explorers or otherwise, one will play the accused murderer, solving puzzles and uncovering hidden secrets as they explore the various exhibitions. Tickets are at S$29.90 per participant, inclusive of a general admission pass to the National Gallery itself.
