Emmy Awards 2020: Regina King’s amazing brooches and other key watch and jewellery looks by Tracee Ellis Ross, Cynthia Erivo, Sterling K. Brown and more

The best celebrity watch and jewellery looks at the Stay-Home Emmys

A year ago, no one could have imagined an Emmy Awards where all the stars stayed at home. But since telecommuting and digital events have now become the new normal, so did the awards take place virtually. Host Jimmy Kimmel was the only person at Los Angeles’ Staples Center, recording ‘live’ for a home audience. “Hello and welcome to the pand-Emmys!” he chortled, and the audience laughed. Or groaned – there’s no way of knowing.

But in spite of the virtual format, the 2020 Emmys was no less glamorous. Okay, slightly less glamorous, as celebrities swapped out dramatic evening gowns with sweeping trains for sensible yet still glamorous knee-length cocktail dresses. Which feels like an appropriate thing to do given the circumstances, although there is no dearth of stylish moments from statement hair to fancy jewellery.

Regina King in Schiaparelli

Regina King in a blue Schiaparelli couture gown…

Kicking things off we have Regina King who took home the Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited Series or Movie. King wore a stunning blue Schiaparelli couture gown studded with brooches while keeping her makeup and accessories to a minimum.

King wore this hot pink pantsuit also by Schiaparelli prior to the Emmys

… and a fuchsia pink pantsuit

Before changing into this look, the Watchmen actress appeared in a fuchsia pink pantsuit also by Schiaparelli, pairing it with a black T-shirt by Phenomenal featuring the late Breonna Taylor.

Actress and comedian, Yvonne Orji, in an Azzian Dosta one-shoulder gown

King wasn’t the only celebrity who paid a tribute to the BLM movement. Yvonne Orji paired her red sequinned Azzian Dosta one-shoulder gown with David Yurman jewellery and styled with a BLM fist shaved onto the side of her head.

Kerry Washington in Oscar de la Renta and Chopard

We also loved Kerry Washington’s looks. That’s right the Emmys nominee wore Dolce & Gabbana with emerald ring and drop earrings by Chopard. Next, the star of Little Flowers Everywhere changed very aptly into a strapless floral gown by Oscar de la Renta, accessorising with Monica Vinader emerald drop earrings.

Tracee Ellis Ross

Nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series for Black-ish, Tracee Ellis Ross looked absolutely radiant in a Tiffany & Co. Schlumberger Hands necklace which paired perfectly with the gold Alexandre Vauthier gown.

Meanwhile, Cynthia Erivo went with a psychedelic Versace dress, accessorising with a Tiffany & Co. Schlumberger ring and earrings, plus more rings from the Tiffany T and Tiffany Victoria collections.

Shira Haas in Chanel

Israeli actress Shira Haas looked fabulous in a Chanel bustier dress, completing the look with Chanel earrings and necklace.

Reese Witherspoon in Louis Vuitton

Going with the full top-to-toe Louis Vuitton, Reese Witherspoon wore a classic little black dress and accessorised with Louis Vuitton jewellery.

Yara Shahidi in Prada and Cartier jewellery

Black-ish star Yara Shahidi showed off a custom Prada gown festooned with black feathers and studded with jewels, plus jewellery by Cartier to complete the look.

As regal as you’d expect of Billy Porter

Billy Porter in Ashi Studio and Lorraine Schwartz

Not to be outdone by the women, Billy Porter swanned around his LA home in a custom off-white suit finished with a floor-grazing shawl by Ashi Studio. The Pose star also put on Lorraine Schwartz jewellery and an Alan Crocetti ear cuff.

Sterling K. Brown in Bvlgari

The other men were a little less dramatic but did not neglect their wrists, as Brad Goreski picked out a Pasha de Cartier timepiece, while Sterling K. Brown wore the new Bvlgari Aluminium watch.
