Louis Vuitton Horizon wireless earbuds: Price, colours and compatibility

Louis Vuitton Horizon earphones

Now, don’t make any sudden movements while wearing these wireless earbuds. Losing one side is a rational fear…given that you’ll be shelling out US$1,000 (S$1,360) for it

Just a week ago during a trip to a quarry in China, a fellow journalist bemoaned the loss of his Apple EarPods. “I was standing at the edge, I turned around to snap a picture, and…it somehow dislodged. It landed on a rocky edge I doubt I’m getting it back.” Can’t say we didn’t see that coming, can we? While we figure out how else to solve this first world problem, Louis Vuitton has jumped on board the bandwagon.

Just this month, the New York-based creators of high-end audio accessories at Master & Dynamic
announced that they were teaming up with Louis Vuitton to help launch a range of wireless earbuds, which will be the French luxury brand’s introductory product in the world of aural accoutrements.

The in-ear devices will be called the Louis Vuitton Horizon earphones and are a riff on M&D’s popular product range, the MW07 True Wireless Earphones. To that end, they will be constructed from first-class materials such as PVD-coated stainless steel acoustic enclosures and 10 mm beryllium drivers, to help produce a rich and, well, dynamic, listening experience for a price of US$1,000 (S$1,360)

The collection comes in four styles and a trio of colours – cherry red, black, and creamy white – which mimic the iconic Louis Vuitton monogram print found on the label’s signature leather goods, but rendered here in a matte and shiny contrast. Then there’s a black pair featuring the house’s other signature design motif of dual-tone stripes (in orange and blue).

Additionally, each pair comes housed in an elegant carrying case, which is meant to mimic the curvilinear silhouette and concave lines of Louis Vuitton’s smartwatch, the Tambour Horizon (offered in white and hand-polished stainless steel to match the white colourway and black PVD-coated stainless steel for the other three options). The case doubles as a charger, providing 10 hours of battery life, giving the earphones 3.5 hours of listening time.

The earbuds are equipped with voice-control capabilities and enabled by Bluetooth, and they’re compatible with Vuitton’s own smartwatch. Needless to say, they’ll perfectly match your other Louis Vuitton accessories. If you’re an audiophile who also loves first-class design, French luxury, and all things Louis Vuitton, you may have found your next stylish purchase.

The launch is certainly music to our ears, until well, we lose a side. Music to our ear, then?
