Saint Pierre

Best known for: Modern French with pronounced Asian touches by chef-owner Emmanuel Stroobant.

What to order: The two-Michelin-starred restaurant has brought back Virtual Saint Pierre, a fine-dining experience like none other. Inspired by Stroobant’s ambitious 26-course A-Z menu (from 2017), it is essentially an 18-course omakase bento, available at S$220 a person on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Order two days in advance to enjoy a seasonal selection of amuse-bouche, starters, mains and desserts – certain diets can be accommodated – and get together some friends if you wish. A zoom link will be provided, and your virtual party (some say ‘mukbang’) will commence, with Stroobant making a quick appearance to introduce the menu to you.

Even more lavish is Room Service by Saint Pierre, a fuss-free dinner experience (S$800) fit for four to five. Available on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, and limited to 12 deliveries a day, each experience allows you to enjoy luxurious and personalised in-room dining from the comfort of your own home. Expect the full works, from your assortment of breads and Brittany butter to your mains like Wagyu and Spring Vegetables; each dish is plated on fine tableware and requires no reheating at all. Caviar add-ons are also available on request.

Full menu here.

Robb Tip: Shoukouwa, also owned by Stroobant, is offering a Fugu Hotpot experience for the home. For S$888, you’ll get a three- to five-person spread of Yamaguchi pufferfish, shirako, glass noodles and more, along with a pot and gas stove set up for you. A S$100 loan deposit for the equipment will be required. If you’re not a fan of risky fish, the Seafood Platter (S$1,488) of uni, hairy crabs and scallops might be more up your alley.
